Podfic Awareness 3

Mostly in terms of podfics, the authors have already written the story and the podficcer simply asks for permission to record it. But can there be more?
Collaborative efforts do happen, either two people just decide one day while talking to go in together on a fic or it will start from a fest, such as the one I did with
fire_juggler for the
pod_together challenge. It's an interesting experience, one I recommend having, because there are different considerations going on: the flow of the dialog may need to change, "he said"/"she said"s could be added or eliminated based on the reader's vocals, words and phrases that have a lot of "s" or "p" sounds can be reworked to eliminate or reduce those popping sounds, maybe add in more onomatopoeia. You are making a different product, so you have to think about the writing differently. Whatever the case may be, it's an experience well worth having.
Yay, Podfics!
The relationship between a podficcer and author can be totally hands off, completely collaborative or anything in between. There are a lot of ways podficcers and authors can help each other, check outpod_aware on LJ or DW for more information.
