snarry_ldws round 4 week 5 prompt: botched potion, "syncope"
"Oi, Harry, we have the latest product for your inspection," says George.
"That's right," continues Fred, "the finest in love potion accessories." He winks as he hands Harry a bottle.
Severus snatches it out of his hand. "Never trust these barmy pranksters with chemical entities, Potter."
"Sev, I'm an investor. I have to take an interest in research and development." Harry yanks the bottle back. "So what does it do?"
"Thought you'd never ask," says Fred.
"It makes your heart's desire amicable!" exclaims George.
"Sounds good to me," Harry says, smirking at Severus.
"Harry, don't!"
Harry pops the top and downs the contents.
Magic swirls around him for a moment, then it snakes over to Severus and encircles him before making a change and disappating.
Harry stares at Severus in horror. "No ... oh, no ... it can't be ..." The blood drains from his face and ...
THUMP!
"That was unexpected," says George.
"Well, I never ..." begins Fred.
"What did you dunderheads manage to befuddle?" Severus rages. "I want to peruse the ingredients list NOW!"
Fred and George exchange a look and hand over a parchment with instructions.
"Fools! Dustwinn seed for Inamicus does NOT make the heart's desire friendlier but instead makes it its enemy!"
"Well, that explains a lot," says Fred, comprehension dawning.
"Uhm, professor, perhaps you should check that mirror?" suggests George.
Severus turns around and faces his reflection, eyes going wide. "Bloody hell ..."
THUMP!
"I think that's a first for us, Fred."
"Indubitably, George, two faints in one day! I'd say the potion is a resounding success!"
"Indeed, although not what we originally intended. Now, let's talk marketing ..."
The twins walk off discussing business matters, leaving Harry and the carbon copy of their sister, Ginevra, in a syncope on the floor.
