snarry_ldws round 4 week 1 prompt: time travel, "lunula"
"Don't touch it!" Severus yelled, but it was too late as Harry placed his hand on the glowing rune. The portkey activated, but there was a difference in the feel. Landing on stone, they surveyed their whereabouts. It looked like Hogwarts.
They heard people coming. "Quick," said Harry, "let's hide in the lunula-ish alcove behind this statue until we know more."
Students came around the bend, and Harry's eyes widened at the sight of them.
"Did you see the look on Snivellus' face? I can't believe he fell for that!" laughed Sirius.
James agreed, "Yeah, charming his potions ingredients was a blast, Siri!"
"Yeah, great job," piped up Peter.
Harry could sense Severus growling behind him. His heart ached at seeing the family he had lost again but his mind was angry at the mischief done to his lover's former self. Without preamble, he non-verbally cast a jelly-legs jinx. Stumbling down the corridor, they searched for their attacker but couldn't find him, so they left for the infirmary.
Harry's heart was racing, but luckily the disillusionment charm he'd cast earlier held. Looking back at Severus, he was surprised at the awe there. "What's up?"
"As much as I'm grateful for the defence of my honour, I'm astounded that you cast that jinx on your father and god-fathers."
"It was wrong of them to treat you that way, and you matter more to me now than they do." Harry said, taking hold of Severus' face and kissing him. "Come on. Let's find another rune to take us back."
"Then, you can explain to me how you knew the term 'lunula'."
"Only if you tell me what prank they pulled on you just now."
Severus looked horrified but nodded acquiescence. He would give anything to follow Harry down the passages of time.
