obviouslysnape challenge #2 - Sectumsempra.
"Hey, Snivellus! Wait up!" taunted James Potter. Snape just kept walking, not wishing to stop for the trash behind him; however, the Marauders weren't going to let him be. They skipped to catch up to and surround the pale-faced boy. "We got a new message for you."
"Yeah," pipped in Sirius Black, "Trelawny called; said she could see your death again ... in rivers of Black! Ha ha! Get it!" All of them laughed at Sirius' latest stupid joke. Snape still couldn't believe such imbeciles existed.
"I'm afraid you've misinterpretted her prediction," he said coolly. "I was swimming in the vastness of knowledge and must have left you behind."
The other boys' faces stilled as they tried to divine Snape's meaning. Remus Lupin figured it out first; he always was the smart one. "The pigment black contains all the colours and, thus, all knowledge." James and Sirius finally got it a minute later.
"So," Sirius said all haughty again, "That means I'm smarter than you! Thanks for the compliment, Snivellus!" The boys laughed again and skeedaddled on their merry way.
Snape's eyes burned. He couldn't let them have the last say. He needed something that would cut them as deep as their words tore at him. Cut. Yes, that was it. He would develop a spell to cut them. He would need the library for his research. Turning left, he went in pursuit of more darkness.
