snarry100 prompt #220: "The Slug Club". Sequel to Worthy Recognition and Banishing Darkness. This is rapidly becoming a series! I think I'll call it "Photo Album".
"It's hard imagining you NOT in the Slug Club. Care to say why?" Harry touched his own plaque.
"The whole thing was a pompous waste of time," Severus intoned vehemently.
"A Slytherin shouldn't have passed up an opportunity for advancement."
Severus' face darkened. "Indeed. Your mother and I were already estranged by then. I didn't have the stomach for her rejection--class was abhorrent enough--so I refused to join."
Harry wrapped his arms around Snape's torso, attempting to smooth the hurt away. "I don't reject you, Sev. You'll always be included with me."
Severus was silently grateful for that.
