A/N: Written to cheer Miss Alisanne up from her surgery and recovery. I may be a bit later than I planned, but here it is, just in time for Harry's birthday.
“Ugh,” Harry said, as he moved about in the bed to get comfortable.
Snape sneered at him. “Quit fidgeting. You will only injure yourself further.”
“Why is recovery so much more painful than getting hurt in the first place?” Harry whinged, shifting back over to his other side, still not relieved.
“Because you insist on this melodrama while your bones and tissues heal, idiot.”
Harry smiled. “So does that mean I can have more pain potions now?”
Snape merely sighed as he passed over said remedy.
Harry downed it and immediately felt better. “Thanks for taking care of me.”
“Always.”

“Make a wish, Harry,” Ron said as they gathered around for cake.
Harry hobbled over under magical assistance. “If this had happened any nearer to my birthday, I would be wishing for the pain to stop, but at least it’s just an annoyance now.”
Hermione glanced over to where Snape was standing, off to the side to allow them room but close enough to help should he be needed. Turning back with a smile, she said, “It looks like you have a new champion in the professor.”
Harry shook his head and locked eyes with Snape.
“Not new, Hermione. Always.”
