The first letter that the owl brang
Was in the springtime with the rain.
The second letter the owl brought
Was in the summer, lusty and hot.
The third letter which came in the fall
talked of forgiveness and smashing the wall.
The fourth letter brought by the owl's part
spoke of loneliness and stole her heart.
The last letter came with its own season
Their wedding bells were the reason.
