He stood observing fellow students mulling about the platform. Although a first-year, his parents were alumni, and he was confident he knew more about Hogwarts traditions than anyone else.
A ratty-haired girl bounced by, excited. “There’s the Hogwarts Express! It has three sections of wizard space!”
Draco blinked. He hadn’t known that. Seems she was smart and perky; he liked that.
“I wish you could do magic, Mum and Dad. It would really help your dental practice.”
Damn, he sneered. How did a Mudblood know more than he? Better proceed cautiously; this one was going to be a formidable rival.
