So, I participated in the inaguaral meeting of firewhiskeyfic last Friday night. I did not get a chance to stay drunk and write the Snape/Hermione drabble I was thinking about doing because both my kids were being impossible about falling asleep. By the time I got up again, it was after midnight and I had lost my tipsy-ness. I did write three haikus, however, all of them useful for any Gryffindor/Slytherin pairing.

New word counter for my Snarry Swap fic. 10K is just a guesstimate. I have no idea how long this will be.

I set my deadline on Nov 14 so that I have a good solid month for the betas to check it and make rewrites before submission. That still leaves almost two months to write, and if I don't post this now, I'll just keep putting it off.

1405 / 10000 words. 14% done!

Whoohoo! It's finished! At least the first draft and I've already started some minor edits. Now my betas can begin working on this monster!

 

11305 / 11300 words. 100% done!

It's all dialogue too, except for the sex but even then I tried to add some speech. hehehe Hermione babbles....

Oh, good grief. I'm fully into the smex scene now and it's going to be long! I've doubled the word count from where I thought I was going with this fic in the beginning. My poor betas. At least I got that extension!

 

8950 / 10000 words. 90% done!

And, there's still the morning after scene, which will be very short, and to go back and fix the first scene. Bleh. keppiehed was right in that this has been a journey for me. I've never written anything this long! I hope it's believable and flows well.

Going home now.

This is the word count from a few nights ago. I'm having work and home issues that preempt writing.  I only wrote maybe another 200-300 last night.

 

3400 / 7000 words. 49% done!

I am taking today and tomorrow as vacation from work to write. Hopefully I can get it all done, but the more I think on it, the longer it gets! I might have to ask for an extension. I'll know by Monday.
