Hermione crept into the Gryffindor common room early on the last morning before winter hols. Everyone else was still asleep, but she couldn't contain her excitement. This year there was the distinct possibility of a boyfriend who might just leave presents in her holiday stocking. She had been bouncing up and down all week. Glancing around at the festively decorated room, she found hers suspended in mid air with the others, plucked it down from its magical hook and scurried over to the fire.

She pulled out a small two-way mirror that was a gift from McGonagall, a Quick Quills notepad--'For you to write your own thoughts about people like Skeeter and Umbridge, Love, Harry'--and a set of mini Extendable Ears which was obviously a present from Ron. At the bottom were some tangerines from Hagrid and a small silver box with gold ribbon and no label. Sitting alone on the hearth, she squealed in anticipation. She carefully undid the bow and opened the box to reveal a beautiful gold chain necklace with emerald accents, which she caressed gently before taking it out.

"Oooh, what's that?"

Hermione gasped at the voice. Looking up, she saw Ginny walk up to her. Catching her breath, she responded, "It's a secret gift. There's no name, but I know who it's from." There was a delighted twinkle in her doe eyes.

"It's very pretty," Ginny remarked, "even though it's the wrong house stone. Should be a ruby."

Hermione gave her a sly look. "Not necessarily. Green matches my coloring as much as red does."

Ginny gave her a knowing smile. "Want some help putting it on?"

"Yes, please." Hermione handed her best friend the jeweled piece and turned and lifted her hair.

"There. Beautiful."

Hermione just blushed and said thank you, happy in the knowledge that her beau returned her affections. She hoped he liked his gift as well.

Following Blaise around to catch him secretly was hard work. Students were running to and fro, delivering gifts and turning in last minute essays. Packing seemed tense in the dormitories, everyone getting in each others' way. Hermione herself always had library books that needed returning, so this gave her an excuse to get away from her roommates. She finally spotted him cornering another boy just inside an unused second-floor corridor.

"Blaise, I'm sorry. I don't know what present you are talking about and I just don't have time for--Hermione!" Theodore's eyes widened and he scooted out from under Blaise's scrutiny. He gave Hermione a nervous smile. "Hey. Uh, Happy Christmas."

Blaise, for his part, turned toward her with an annoyed glare and terse nod. She had clearly interrupted something.

Hermione dismissed the weedy little Slytherin with a shake of her head, although she was intrigued by this discreet meeting. "Yes, Happy Christmas. To you both." She put on her best smile and a knowing gleam in her eyes, directed exclusively at the darker Slytherin. "Blaise, I know Santa brought you a little something. It seems he left one for me, too. I thought we could ... compare gifts." She hoped he would catch her meaning.

Before he could answer her with anything other than an irritated drawing-in of the eyebrows, Theo spoke up. "Speaking of which, I hope you liked your gift, Hermione."

Confusion formed on her face. "What are you talking about?"

"You know, the necklace. Didn't you open your stocking?"

Flabbergasted, she gaped at the other boy. Theo? It was Theo who'd sent her the necklace? "Yes, but I thought ..." Her words trailed off as she pieced things together, subconsciously touching it around her throat.

Theo saw the gesture and smiled. "You do like it."

"Wait," Blaise interrupted. "You gave her a necklace? But didn't you give me this silver snake chain with the red eyes?" His scowl burned into the other boy's head.

"I'm telling you, I don't know anything about that," Theo began again.

Hermione put her hand on Blaise's arm to draw his attention. "That was from me."

All three of them stood staring at each other in astonishment.

Finally, Hermione broke the silence. "I like you, Blaise, and you appear to have a thing for Theo, who is crushing on me, yes?"

Both boys looked at each other and back to her and nodded.

Her mouth drew up into a sly smile. "You know, a triangle is one of the most stable forms in construction. I bet if we put a little effort into it, we can build a mutually-beneficial foundation."

Theo caught on first, his mind always working. He smirked. "Agreed. What do you say, mate?"

Blaise looked from one to the other and realised they could all have what they wanted. "Sure. I believe this may be a Yule blessing in disguise." He slid his hand around to Theo's buttocks and pulled the smaller Slytherin to himself, planting a possessive kiss on the boy.

Breaking the liplock, breathless, Theo reached for Hermione and drew her to their combined bodies, kissing her sweetly on the mouth. Her heart skipped a beat as she felt herself enfolded in their arms.

Hermione then ended that kiss and moved her face to Blaise's, capturing his lips in a desperate plea of longing, which he answered with fervor.

Limbs and tongues explored as all three began to heat with desire. While kisses were exchanged and hands roamed, they stumbled into a side classroom intent on sharing themselves with each other.

Packing could happen later, thought Hermione. This was the best Christmas present.
